Younger Americans are likely to overestimate the cost by as much as <em>six times<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p>In reality, a healthy 30-year-old can get a $250,000 20-year term life insurance <a href=\"https:\/\/lifehappens.org\/life-insurance-101\/what-is-the-average-life-insurance-cost\/\">policy for about $13\/month<\/a>. Let\u2019s compare that to the cost of some other common everyday expenses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0The no-shame game<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A quick note: the point of this comparison is not to discount the value of our modern era conveniences, or shame anyone for the small pleasures we\u2019ve all turned to (or missed desperately) during the last year and a half. Instead, we\u2019ll show that you can make room for both things \u2014 your post-pandemic lifestyle, and the peace of mind life insurance brings \u2014 with virtually no sacrifice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0So, what else costs about $13?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>A bottle of wine. We know. The last year and a half has been rough, but just one less bottle of vino per month could make room for the life insurance protection your family needs. In California, the average price of a bottle of mid-premium supermarket wine is $13.29, with a <a href=\"https:\/\/housemethod.com\/blog\/wine-cost-state\/\">$1-2 variation across the nation<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>A single subscription meal. An average entr\u00e9e runs $10-15 with most subscription meal services. At $12.99\/month, exercise fans say it\u2019s worth every penny for access to classes. So why not budget for both? For about the same price, you may also be able to get life insurance coverage as well.<\/li>\n<li>Your beloved \u201ccustom topping\u201d burger meal (and peanuts to tide you over until it\u2019s ready). The average check at your favorite \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.franchisehelp.com\/industry-reports\/fast-casual-industry-analysis-2020-cost-trends\/\">fast-casual\u201d restaurant runs about $12<\/a>. If you eat at one of these restaurants a few times a month, just cutting back on one trip gets you pretty close to your life insurance goal.<\/li>\n<li>A music streaming plan. The family subscription for a music streaming service comes in at about $13 per month, and it\u2019s a cost most of us don\u2019t blink an eye at. While life insurance coverage isn\u2019t <em>quite<\/em> as \u201cset-and-forget\u201d as being able to download your favorite playlist (<a href=\"https:\/\/lifehappens.org\/life-insurance-101\/how-often-should-i-review-my-life-insurance\/\">don\u2019t skip out on your annual policy review<\/a>!), it can be just as affordable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Budgeting for both<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Your family\u2019s welfare is always on your mind.
